Subjunctive with Expressions of Emotion, Doubt, Uncertainty (Review)

The subjunctive follows phrases that express emotion, such as:

Me alegro de que I'm happy that
Es ridículo que It's ridiculous that
Es triste que It's sad that
Es una lástima que It's a pity that
Espero que I hope that
Ojalá que Hopefully, I hope that
Siento que I'm sorry that
Tengo miedo de que I'm afraid that

The subjunctive also follows phrases that express doubt and uncertainty:

Dudo que i doubt that
No creo que I don't believe that
No es cierto que It's not certain that
No es seguro que It's not certain, (for sure) that
No es verdad que It's not true that
Quizás / Quizá Perhaps...
Tal vez maybe...

The Subjunctive With cuando and Other Expressions of Time

You use the subjunctive after certain conjunctions of time to show that you are not sure when or if something will happen.  You can use the indicative with the same conjunctions of time, if the main clause referse to the present or the past.  Using the indicative shows that you are already certain about the outcome of the action described in the subordinate clause:

Subjunctive (Not Certain of Outcome) Indicative (Certain of Outcome)
Bucearán hasta que anochezca Bucearon hasta que anocheció
They will dive until it gets dark They until it got dark
Avísame cuando sepas Siempre me avisas cuando sabes
Let me know when you find out something You always let me know when you find out something

These conjunctions of time are:

cuando when
en cuanto as soon as
hasta que until
tan pronto como as soon as
